How to measure your door’s backset.

In the United States, there are two common backsets for residential door locks: Standard (2 ⅜”) and Long (2 ¾”). All Level locks come with an adjustable backset that accommodates both Standard and Long.

Note: The OMNIA 943 lever included in Level Expressions is not adjustable. You must select the correct backset length when you add it to your cart.

To measure the door backset:

  1. If your deadbolt is still installed, measure from the edge of the door to the center of the keyhole.
  2. If your deadbolt is not installed, measure from the edge of the door to the center of the bore hole.

Important: Measure the backset carefully. The ⅜”-difference between a standard and long backset is enough to determine a successful installation.
